I just can’t seem to find it
It slid down, sat next to her toe, and waited.
It didn’t climb back, clamber up, and get tucked in.
The sand climbed into its crevices, making it cough.
The slide had nudged a ligament lose too.
A squeak emanated, it sounded like a beep.
A faint beep, like a cry for help.
She didn’t hear it, and why would she.
She always put the cell on silent when she visited her kid’s school.
